- Joe began his apprenticeship under his grandfather Allen "Smokey" Burd in Jefferson City, MO when he was just a boy. At age 18, he started full-time in the profession and has enjoyed 35 years as a piano tuner. He has a wide range of experience, including having been on staff at Truman State University, a tech for two different Steinway de
- Joe began his apprenticeship under his grandfather Allen "Smokey" Burd in Jefferson City, MO when he was just a boy. At age 18, he started full-time in the profession and has enjoyed 35 years as a piano tuner. He has a wide range of experience, including having been on staff at Truman State University, a tech for two different Steinway dealers, and as the tech for the largest music store in Norway. His passion for continuous education combined with his vast experience has earned him the recognition and title of Master Piano Technician. Joe is a lifelong musician and has performed in numerous groups - as a trumpet player with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, as a bass player in a hard rock band, and on keys in an experimental group. He is a past Cubmaster, Civil Air Patrol volunteer, and holds an Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator's License.
- Joe is a Certified Master Piano Technician and Certified installer of Dampp-Chaser, Pianodisc, and QRS Player Piano Systems.

- Riley is a lifelong musician (and a 4th generation Piano Technician) with special talent on classical guitar and violin. He studied music performance in Oslo, Norway and has performed in numerous ensembles including with his band which made it to the televised finals of "Norway's Got Talent".

- Riley began his apprenticeship in the shop in 2017, and does all of our refinishing and restringing work. He joins Joe in the field during our busy times.

- Isaac is our newest technician and is currently nearing the end of his apprenticeship.
- Ike has a background in mechanics as well as music composition and sound engineering. His innate understanding of piano actions makes him a valuable addition to the team. He will be joining us in the field very soon.
